Sponsorship Program
Education is a crucial building block in creating self-sustaining communities in East Africa. Pendo Project is fostering mentorships and opportunities for students by creating a team of educators, students, mentors and financial backers to ensure the children achieve their educational goals. Education keeps girls from being child brides, trapped in a cycle of poverty and low-expectations.
Sponsors not only supply funds for tuition and boarding but are expected to maintain continual contact with their student through letters, emails, videos and when possible visits. This program aims to guide the student through to graduation and beyond, nurturing a bridge between worlds and changing the lives of all involved.
The cost of sending a child to Public School ranges between $80USD to $500USD per year (depending on the age of the child). Public School offers the most basic education and teachers may not be properly qualified. Though this is still better than no education at all, we prefer to send our children to Private School, costs ranging from $350USD to $1200USD per year.
At both Public and Private School, the costs above includes uniform, shoes, books, school supplies, school bag, lunch and in some Private School cases full room and board.
